Fernando Torres’ career is going from bad to worse. The Spaniard who was deemed unwanted at Chelsea completed a two year loan move to Italian side AC Milan in the summer. Despite being excellent on his debut against Empoli, Torres has been very poor in the past few weeks.
Torres has looked out of shape, has been rusty and has had no impact in Milan’s back to back wins against Hallas Verona and Lazio. It is now believed that manager Filippo Inzaghi has lost his trust in the 30 year old.
Reports from German Tabloid BILD have now claimed that new Schalke manager Roberto Di Matteo is looking to bring Torres in the upcoming January transfer window. The Italian won the Champions League with Torres during his reign at Chelsea.
A move to Germany will depend on Chelsea however. It remains to be seen if the Blues sanction the move to Schalke as he was initially loaned to AC Milan. However, it would be difficult for Torres replicating the kind of form he showed at Liverpool. Di Matteo would well know that he might be taking a gamble but will it be worth it?
