Tottenham looks to maintain their hold on the last UEFA Champions League spot on Sunday with a match against Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Preview

Tottenham Hotspur is in 4th place in the English Premier League table while Everton is in 8th heading into the weekend. Spurs are 2-3-2 in their last seven league matches. Overall, Tottenham has a +22 goal difference with only 26 goals conceded in 27 matches. Their leading goalscorer is Jermain Defoe, with 16 in the Premiership this season. Everton is 5-1-1 in their last seven matches including wins over Manchester United and Chelsea. The Toffee’s leading goalscorer in the EPL is Louis Saha, who has 13 this season.

Both clubs had midweek matches with different results. Tottenham crushed Bolton in an FA Cup replay while Everton lost 0-3 at Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Europa League. The two teams played a 2-2 draw in December at Goodison Park.

Everton have been in great form at home but unable to duplicate that success on the road. They have most of their players back from injuries and can put forward a formidable line-up. Steven Pienaar and Landon Donovan provide good speed and service from the wings while Saha has been able to provide goals.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has provided stability and consistent play to the club. They have a dangerous attack with Lennon, Crouch, Defoe, and Kranjcar on the roster. A win for Spurs would keep them in the 4th spot while a loss would likely drop them down the table. Everton still have a slight chance of a Europa League spot but need to finish strong in the final months.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton Prediction

Tottenham are too strong at home and will get a 2-1 win.
