AC Milan’s golden boy Stephan El Shaarawy has had series of injuries in recent years and has badly struggled for form, but media continue to link him with a move away from San Siro.
The 22-year-old claims that he is “gratified” by reports linking with Premier League giants Arsenal.
The Italian forward has been out injured for the past five weeks and he is currently focusing on recovering quickly.
He said, as quoted by The Mirror: “I am gratified by Arsenal’s interest, certainly, but my objective is to come back for Milan and do well at Milan.”
El Shaarawy suffered a broken metatarsal since the end of January and his absence has hit hard as Inzaghi’s team are scraping around mid-table in the Serie A.
Milan have become largely a selling club recently and El Shaarawy remain one of the few players who could fetch them lots of cash to re-invest in the team.
Should Arsenal make a move for him in summer? We’ll have to wait and see.
