Chelsea striker Diego Costa has openly admitted that he wants Arda Turan, a reported target of Manchester United, to join him at the Stamford Bridge this summer.
Turan has already expressed his desire to leave Atletico this summer. His agent revealed that he had been in talks with “three of four” top clubs, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona being linked with a move for the Turkish international.
In an interview with Turkish newspaper Bugun, Costa suggested that he would like to be reunited with Turan, after playing alongside him for three years at the Vicente Calderon.
“I would really like to be reunited with him,” Spain international Costa said. “It would be fantastic because he is a player that makes my job easier.
“Arda, Flilpe Luis and I achieved great success together and he really is a great guy.”
Catalan newspaper Sport dropped a bombshell (not for the first time this summer) yesterday where they claimed that Turan had agreed a five-year-deal to join Barcelona. Despite knowing that he won’t be able to play before January (when he will be registered because of Barcelona’s transfer ban) Turan has still agreed to join Barca because he doesn’t want to miss out the dream opportunity of playing alongside Lionel Messi.
Madrid based newspaper AS however reports that Turan has yet to agree a deal to join the Catalan giants. In fact, he may not join them in the summer. He has already agreed a personal deal with Manchester United, but he still prefers a move to Chelsea.
Turan has a reported release clause of €41m but Atletico could be willing to drop his price for the transfer to go through smoothly.
