Chelsea striker Diego Costa has opened up about the speculations surrounding his future.
The Spain international has been linked with an emotional return to Atletico Madrid, after it emerged that the striker has had a fall out with Jose Mourinho.
Costa struggled to get on with Jose Mourinho, after the Portuguese started dropping the former Atleti striker due to injury concerns. The player believed that he was dropped unfairly, despite being fit enough to play.
Things went from bad to worse when Costa took off for a party in Madrid after the Chelsea squad were give a day off by Jose Mourinho last season. The Brazilian reported back a day later and was dropped from the Liverpool game as punishment.
Things haven’t quite been the same between Costa and Mourinho since then and the striker was linked with a move back to Atleti this summer.
After scoring a wonderful goal against Maccabi yesterday, Costa has finally spoken about the Atletico Madrid rumours.
Diego Costa rubbished all speculations and claimed that Atletico Madrid have not made any offers for him and that there is no chance of him going back unless an offer is submitted.
“How am I going to return to Atletico if no one has made me an offer?
“I scored a good goal [against Maccabi] but we needed to win and that’s what matters.
“We know we can give a little more than we are. Each one of us knows that we can do more. We thought things would be better.”
Chelsea fans will be pleased to learn that their best striker is set to stay this season, especially after their disastrous start to the season, they could use all the help they can get.
