Chelsea are looking to complete one or two deal before the World Cup begins next week. The West London clubs are focussing their attention on signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and have lodged a formal bid already.

However, their primary objective now rests on completing the Diego Costa deal from Atletico Madrid. Already both the clubs have agreed a £32m deal, after Chelsea trigged his buy-out clause, and the player had successfully undergone medical, all it needs now is to solve some official paper works, which they expect to complete within Tuesday.

“Chelsea have made an offer to Atletico Madrid in compliance with the buyout terms in Diego Costa’s contract, and have been advised that the player has provided notice to Atletico Madrid invoking the buyout clause and directing the club to accept Chelsea’s offer,” said a club source to Sky Sports.

“Chelsea look forward to entering into formal transfer documentation with Atletico Madrid as soon as possible so that the player can concentrate on the World Cup.”

Costa has had a terrific campaign last season where he scored 36 goals in 52 games and helped the Rojiblancos win the La Liga title. The Blues are also plotting to sign two Atletico players – Filipe Luis and Tiago.

Reports in Spain suggest that Chelsea have agreed a deal for left back Luis. Furthermore, Atletico have signed Granda left-back Guilherme Siqueira from Granada which will pave the way for Luis to complete his move to Chelsea.
