Scottish giants Celtic are prepared to wait and finish the remaining games of this season.
Currently, football has been suspended because of the COVID-19 crisis and there were talks of awarding Celtic the title if football cannot be resumed.
Celtic’s willingness to finish the season before they can be crowned champions will certainly impress the rival fans.
It would give Rangers the chance to fight until the end and it would also preserve the sporting integrity.
It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next few months.
As per Daily Record, Rangers were considering legal action if Celtic were crowned before winning the league mathematically.
Steven Gerrard’s men are currently 13 points behind the Hoops and they have a game in hand. Although Rangers could win the league mathematically, it seems highly unlikely that Celtic will collapse in the remaining matches.
The fans will be hoping for the remaining games to be played as well. Celtic have worked very hard for their 9th league title in a row and they wouldn’t want any question marks over their achievements this season.
Furthermore, UEFA wants domestic competitions to be finished as well. Otherwise, it could affect participation in the European competitions next season.
