Arsenal defender Isaac Hayden is set to sign for the Championship outfit Newcastle United.
According to latest reports, the player will undergo his Newcastle United medical this week and sign a 5 year contract with Rafa Benitez’ side.
The highly talented defender has failed to make the step up to Arsenal’s first team and has agreed to join Newcastle for regular game time.
Hayden has a contract at Arsenal till the summer of 2017 and therefore Newcastle will surely have to pay a fee for the young defender. Although the report does not mention the fee, it is believed that both clubs have an agreement in place.
Newcastle have already signed the likes of Jesus Gamez and Matt Ritchie and will be desperate to get back into the Premier League as soon as possible.
Hayden can operate as a centre back as well as a defensive midfielder and will be a great utility signing for Newcastle United.
The versatile 21-year-old can also play at full-back and knows the Championship well after a season-long loan at Hull City last term.
