Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has taken to social media to clarify things about his future. The Turkish international has admitted that while no concrete deal has been struck yet, his agent is in talks with three or four clubs over a possible move.
The transfer rumors are not entirely correct. My agent is currently in touch with 3-4 clubs. I will update you all if a deal is made.

Turan has been linked with Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea in the past few weeks. Liverpool have also been rumoured to be possible suitors. There have been reports, as the one here by the Telegraph, that the attacking midfielder has been hinting at a move to England. His agent stated, “Arda intends to leave Spain this summer and his will is to play in the Premier League.”
The 28 year-old has spent 4 seasons at the Vicente Calderon and has been at the forefront of Diego Simeone’s side that has achieved so much success in the last few years. He has won 5 trophies during his time in Spain, including the famous 2013-14 campaign when Atletico broke the duopoly of Barcelona and Real Madrid to win the La Liga title.
Chelsea know his quality only too well, as it was Turan who scored the decisive third goal at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League semi-final tie between the sides in 2014. Even though scoring regular goals is not one of his fortes (he only managed 3 in all competitions last season), Turan combines skill with graft in a way that Jose Mourinho will certainly value.
Louis van Gaal’s major priority this summer is to bring in a defensive midfielder, but adding some more attacking prowess is not something he will say no to. United were said to be close to signing Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, before the Brazilian chose to move to Liverpool instead.
