Andrew found 8-1 Wolverhampton winner ALJARYAAL on Monday and has three selections at Lingfield and Newcastle on Tuesday November 9th:

LINGFIELD 2.07

LANSPARK (system – Colin Tizzard young handicappers)

It’s well documented that the Colin Tizzard yard had a torrid 2020/21 jumps season and, as a result, their horses looks well handicapped. The new season has begun in a more positive light and, since September 1st, had we bet all their jumps handicappers aged seven or less we’d have won seven of our 34 bets and made a profit of £7.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who had been off the track for 150 days or longer have won five of their 18 starts for a profit of £16.50. LANSPARK, a 16-1 winner on his handicap hurdle debut at Taunton in the spring when we last saw him, looks interesting on his reappearance/chase debut.

LINGFIELD 3.37

ALKOPOP (system – younger chase debutants under top weight in handicaps)

It’s always interesting to a see a horse make its chase debut under top weight in a handicap, rather than take the beginners’ or novices’ chase route. The younger qualifiers (aged seven or less) do best and had we bet them all since 2010 we’d have found 106 winners from 544 bets (19.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £129.92 to a £1 level stake at SP. The Toby Lawes-trained ALKOPOP had form figures in handicap hurdles of 3112 (2-4) and can defy an absence of 244 days.

NEWCASTLE 3.45

LORD TORRANAGA (system – sire Planeteur on Tapeta)

Progeny of the sire Planteur have a nine from 32 record here at Newcastle or on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface for a profit of £78.45 to a £1 level stake at SP. LORD TORRANAGA has the patient running style which is so effective on the round course here and was an easy winner on Southwell’s Fibresand the last time he ran on the all-weather.
