According to Spanish media, Filipe Luis has completed his transfer back to Atletico Madrid and are waiting for Chelsea to finalise their deal for the replacement, before announcing the transfer.
It is no secret that Chelsea are working hard to finalise the signing of Augsburg left back, Abdul Rahman Baba. The Ghanian international is one of the best young left backs in the world and has been linked with Chelsea for the last couple of months.
Augusburg are reluctant to let go of their prized asset and are determined to play hardball with the Premier League champions.
Club president, Klaus Hoffman spoke to the Bild earlier and confirmed that he is happy to keep Baba and enjoy him at Augsburg.
Hoffman also explained that unless Chelsea were willing to meet their demands for the Ghanian, the Blues should not consider calling the German outfit, as there will be no negotiations.
“We do not need the Baba money. I am a FCA fan. To me it’s more important that I can relax in the evening watching a victory on TV with a beer than we have more money in the account.
“In any case, at under €20m there’s no need to call”, he said.
Mourinho is keen to get his defence sorted before any other position and is working hard to conclude the deals for Stones and Baba.
It is believed that the young full back is interested in a transfer to the Premier league and will happily consider Chelsea’ offer, should Augsburg allow him to. In such a scenario a transfer looks increasingly likely.
Chelsea are known to pay up for their targets if they truly want the player and it seems that might very well be the case here in the end.
