Ligue 1 Stadiums: As seen from above

Ligue 1 is ranked fifth in Europe behind Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A but they have managed to attract a lot of star power recently, mainly just Paris Saint-Germain though.

Currently only 26 football stadiums have a capacity of 20,000 or more in France. Not that it is a standard but six out of the twenty Ligue 1 clubs have stadiums under that capacity. Still the average attendance of the league is 18,930 – which is still more than any of these six clubs can host.

Stade de France has the highest capacity of over 81,000 but no club plays regular football there – it is home to the French national team. Lille has the biggest capacity out of the Ligue 1 stadiums with over 50,000 at the Grand Stade Lille Metropole while AC Ajaccio has the smallest with just under 11,000 at the Stade Francois Coty.

Below is the gallery of overhead shots of all the twenty Ligue 1 stadiums (courtesy of Google Maps and Bing Maps).
