It is becoming likelier with each passing day that AC Milan might sell striker Mario Balotelli in the summer with the club’s vice president Barbara Berlusconi claiming that “nobody is irreplaceable.”
Barbara, the daughter of owner of Silvio Berlusconi said, “Balotelli is a great player, but nobody is irreplaceable. We will see what happens.”
Earlier this week Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola had met with the club CEO of Adriano Galliani to discuss on his client’s future at the San Siro. Raiola had also expressed the Arsenal interest saying the Gunners are a great club and one of the very few sides who can afford to acquire the services of the Italian striker.
In fact we had earlier reported that Arsene Wenger is in Brazil to discuss with Raiola over a possible switch for Balotelli to the Emirates in the coming transfer window as Arsenal are desperate to mount a serious title challenge in the Premier League next season.
A high quality striker remains the top priority for the London club who want to take the pressure off Olivier Giroud up front. Balotelli will certainly be an upgrade for the Frenchman as it will enhance competition for a starting eleven spot. The former Manchester City striker’s unpredictability to turn big games on its head will also hand Wenger a different attacking dimension up front.
