It seems as if the last week of the summer transfer window is now under full swing. Just yesterday we had reported that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had insisted that he wants Spanish striker Fernando Torres to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer saying, “I want him to stay. He will play and score goals, and be very useful for us.”
However reports this morning in Italian media outlet La Stampa have claimed that Torres is a step away from joining AC Milan, the Rossoneri who want the 30 year old striker to replace Mario Balotelli at San Siro. TMW have also cited the report saying that the Spaniard would be interested in the move but his asronomical wage demands could be a stumbling block.
Milan Vice-president and C.E.O Adriano Galliani knows how to speak Spanish and will try to convince the former Liverpool player to leave the Premier League in favour of a switch to the Serie A.
The recent developments comes after Gazzetta Dello Sport had cited English media outlet ‘Daili Star’ that Chelsea are preparing a €25m offer to acquire the service of Roma striker Mattia Destro, the Italian who has an admirer in Mourinho.
