Chelsea’s potential sales of Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud to AC Milan could help them to raise the necessary funds needed to make a move for Erling Braut Haaland.
The Blues could earn up to £25 million by selling Tomori, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the San Siro, making 17 Serie A appearances and scoring one goal.
Tomori’s form is believed to have convinced Milan to trigger the clause in the deal to make his stay at the club permanent.
The England international failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at Chelsea in five years with the club. He will be keen to find himself a stable home with Milan.
Meanwhile, Chelsea could potentially receive a fee for the sale of striker Olivier Giroud to Milan, according to The Telegraph.
The veteran recently triggered a one-year extension in his contract at Stamford Bridge. The new deal allows the Blues to secure a fee for his exit rather than lose him as a free agent.
Milan are willing to pay £3 million for the Frenchman, but Chelsea will be looking for a higher figure.
The Blues need to raise funds as they are currently readying a £150 million move for Haaland, according to Marca.
Amidst their financial troubles caused by the pandemic, Borussia Dortmund are prepared to sell Haaland and Jadon Sancho for the right price.
Haaland could be available for just £70 million in 2022, and Dortmund may be keen to offload him for a bigger fee this summer.
