The Ivory Coast and Portugal would play to a disappointing scoreless draw in a Group G match on Tuesday.
Both sides would get chances including a shot from Cristiano Ronaldo that hit the post in the 11th minute. Overall, Ivory Coast had the better of play but failed to convert any of their chances. There were only three shots on goal combined in the match and an unexpected result from two sides with plenty of talented attacking players.
A loss would have been tough for both sides who have North Korea and Brazil left in group play. Both should easily beat North Korea and the outcome against Brazil will likely determine who makes it to the knockout stage.
