Reputed and reliable English tabloid Guardian have reported that La Liga winners Atletico Madrid are preparing a €32m offer to Manchester United for Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernandez.
The report claims that Louis Van Gaal is set to ditch his out of favour players at Old Trafford in his attempts to rebuild teh squad ahead of the 2014-15 season.
The Red Devils capped off their fine pre season with a victory over Liverpool to win the International Champions Cup in the United States. It is now believed that Van Gaal is set to get down to business and axe several players who will not fit in his preferred 3-5-2 setup at Old Trafford.
Yesterday we had reported that the Red Devils had slapped a €11m price tag on Mexican striker while midfielder Shinji Kagawa’s future also remains uncertain at the club. Now that Atletico are ready to offer €32m for the pair, a deal can be struck upon in the coming days.
The report claims that Hernandez is waiting ‘to be told’ that his future lies away from Old Trafford. The Mexican has already fallen down the pecking order in the striking department behind the preferred trio of Van Persie, Rooney and Welbeck.
The same goes for Kagawa, the Japanese who wnats to play in his preferred number role, but that slot will be probably handed over to Spaniard Juan Mata or even Rooney who can drop in the hole just behind the lone striker up front.
