Ruud van Nistelrooy has had his share of taunting by opposition players for missing penalties.
He rarely gets the chance to avenge it in the same match though.
Against Arsenal RVN got pushed around and laughed at by Arsenal fans, and he took the taunts quietly and put the next penalty away in the next game with consummate ease and professionalism (although his post-goal celebrations suggested were a bit overexaggerated).
Against Andorra though, RVN gave up the traditional celebration for this:
I have two questions – why weren’t the Andorran players booked for taunting RVN on his missed penalty (or were they?), and since when does clapping in the face of an opponent get a yellow card and a blatant shove gets no card?
