French veteran Patrice Evra’s Manchester United exit has been on the cards for quite some time, with a number of names mooted to be in line to replace the full-back at Old Trafford. Now Schalke 04’s Sead Kolasinac has emerged as a potential candidate to fill the void in the long-term.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for Southampton’s Luke Shaw in recent months, with some reports even claiming that the Red Devils had already sown up a deal for the 18-year-old, beating rivals Chelsea to his coveted signature. But according to German newspaper ‘Bild’ and English radio-station talkSPORT, Kolašinac has emerged as an alternative to Shaw, with the 20-year-old certainly a cheaper option to the England man.
Kolašinac has been a regular for Schalke this season, impressing from the left, and certainly putting himself in the shop window for this summer. Indeed, talkSPORT have claimed that United have previously sent scouts to observe the young defender in recent months, with a reported £4.5m price-tag an attractive option for the club.
Evra, who has been at Old Trafford since 2006, has been linked with a move to Monaco, Inter Milan, and Roma this summer, with the 32-year-old just one of a host of players set to leave the club during what is set to be a crucially important transfer window for the struggling giants.
