The transfer rumour mill has gone into overdrive today, after the Daily Mail reported that Manchester United manager David Moyes was at the Parc De Princes yesterday to watch French champions PSG.

The Scot had been seen at a Juventus game only a few days ago, and it seems that he is giving a personal touch to a Man Utd scouting mission in Europe, after he was seen abroad once more as PSG beat Bordeaux 3-1 in the semi-finals of the French League Cup.

PSG have a host of world superstars on the books, and with no concrete information as to Moyes’ targets, there has been a veritable explosion of speculation over the reason for his visit to the French capital.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, winner of the Puskas award for ‘Goal of the Year’ at Monday night’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, is the first name on people’s lips here, but there really cannot be any truth to Zlatan/United links, with the 32-year-old stating in November that he intends to play outside of Europe when his contract expires in 2016.

“A future in the United States? I don’t like to make too many plans, but one day, when my contract expires, I would like to play outside Europe, even if I don’t know where,” Zlatan said (via Sky Sports).

A more likely scenario for United would be a move for Blaise Matuidi or Javier Pastore.

Frenchman Matuidi, who scored the third goal in the Bordeaux win, has been linked with both Man City and Chelsea over the past few weeks, as we reported here, and Moyes could well be interested in the defensive midfielder due to his contractual situation at PSG.

Matuidi’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and the French champions are working hard behind the scenes to tie down the destroyer with an extension.

A tempting offer to the 26-year-old could sway the situation, and considering the current inconsistencies of the current crop of United midfielders, there would be little surprise if Moyes decided to move for the player.

Javier Pastore is also an option, with the Argentine also said to be considering an exit.

We reported here that the 24-year-old could be shipped out by PSG to make way for January signings, with Chelsea’s Juan Mata strongly linked with a move to France in the last few months.

Pastore shone in the win against Bordeaux yesterday, netting the opening goal for Laurent Blanc’s side, and would be an interesting option for Moyes, should he decide to go in for the play-maker.
