Will Manchester United sign Xavi and sell Tevez in January?

It is quite simple for the men from the red side of Manchester, play to your potential and you don’t need to buy anyone. Whilst it is easier said than done, the roster Manchester United has is one that almost every club in the world is envious of.

To think of a team where players of such class like Tevez, Nani, Hargreaves and Ji-Sung are not guaranteed a starting spot in the first eleven is something many clubs would die for. Plus, when you have such attacking prowess in the forms of European Player of the Season, Christiano Ronaldo, hundred goal scorer Wayne Rooney and the stylish Dimitar Berbatov, well can anyone say they don’t want that in their team?

However, teams are starting to get tougher and tougher, especially in the Premier League and it appears that players like Ronaldo just might start to be losing their cool, but at the moment I can’t see the physicality of the English game doing to much harm, but I could be wrong.

I really don’t know who United need to bring in this window, like Chelsea their depth is great. Injuries are the only thing that could see them stagger in the race for honours, so maybe bringing in another central defender to cover for Ferdinand or Vidic is a good idea. Brown and Neville seem to both have injury problems at the moment so it wouldn’t be unwise to look at some right backs, but Rafael can fill that position if he can work on his defensive problems.

United confirmed that Zoran Tosic will join in the January transfer window, he is usually deployed down the left flank and posses a handful of skills as well as an explosive shot. Xavi of Barcelona has been on the radar, and after talks stalled with Barca over a contract extension, if they could pull of the signing, it would help the defensive ranks and sure up the midfield.

My Transfer: Xavi (Barcelona FC)

Well let’s be honest here, we all know the player who is struggling at Manchester United. Yes, it’s that man again, Carlos Tevez. The Argentinean has struggled for game time this whole season and he appears unsure why, and I’m with him.

Rooney and Berbatov are in decent form and are keeping him out of the team for now. But they haven’t been performing on a consistent basis. One week Berba will play well, week after Rooney will score his hundredth goal, Tevez just seems to be drifting, and drifting, and drifting towards the exit door at United. But after his sizzling four-goal performance against Blackburn in the Carling Cup, he has again depicted his brilliant finishing ability.

However, other clubs have become aware of the situation at United and are carefully watching how the whole situation will unfold. The biggest interest has come from Real Madrid, with outgoing manager Bernd Schuster looking to cover for the injured Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and they may well get their man. It is obvious Tevez is more than frustrated at United, and if he didn’t play so well in the Carling Cup, I would have been more surprised if he stayed than if he left.

My Most Likely To Leave: Carlos Tevez
