West Ham Manager Interested In Juventus’ Giovinco

West Ham United manager Gianfranco Zola has admitted that he would be interested in signing the highly rated Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco.

The 21-year old is said to be one of the most promising young players in Europe and is currently at Juventus. But he has been relegated to the bench by Claudio Ranieri so far this season and is reportedly unsettled at the club and wants a move out of Turin.

A number of clubs, including Premier League giants Arsenal, have been linked with the player but so far nothing concrete has materialized. Giovinco’s agent himself has been quoted as saying that his client wants more playing time on the pitch, something that he is not getting at Juventus and under the current circumstances would not get.

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has now confirmed that he is interested in the player. The Hammers were earlier linked with a move to sign the player in January but nothing evolved from that link. And once again the links have resurfaced but this time the former Chelsea striker Zola doesn’t bother to hide his admiration.

He said, “He’s one of those players who can change a game. So I might be interested.”

But it is unlikely that West Ham would be able to draft in Giovinco. The Italian youngster is very much ambitious and it doesn’t appear too probable that he would barter an Italian Serie A and UEFA Champions League contender for a mid-table Premier League club. But then again, in football you never really know, do you? After all, Robinho left Real Madrid for Manchester City!
