Southampton forward Sadio Mane scored the fastest hattick in the Premier League to break Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler’s record that lasted over 20 years.
The Saints humiliated Aston Villa 6-1 at home, where Shane Long and Graziano Pelle also scored for the home side.
Southampton opened the scoring in 13th min through Mane, who went on to complete his hattrick within next 2 mins and 56 seconds.
Fowler in his tongue-in-cheek humour, tweeted:
Getting a lot of messages here… What’s happened

Ronald Koeman’s side has been simply brilliant all season and the result puts them in top six in the Premier League with just two points behind fifth placed Liverpool. Mane wasn’t aware that he made this record of scoring the fastest hattrick in the league, and when interviewed after the match, he was pretty shocked with the news.
“Really? It is the fastest Premier League hat-trick? The most important thing today is the victory,” he said to BBC.
“We have a chance to finish in the Europa League spots. We will try to win the next game against Manchester City and why not win it?”

Just 68 seconds of actual playing time between all three of Sadio Mane’s goals today. Incredible. http://t.co/rdj2NgFvWu #Saintsfc
