Manchester United will face Chelsea on Sunday in a crucial Premier League, but there is an unusual low hype surrounding the fixture.

Usually before a big match, an extra interest in generated among the fans about several aspects of the game like the formation, possible lineups, tactical duels, team news, and so on, but here we find all the pre-match hype has been built on who the next manager of United will be.

The UK press has speculated in the last few days about the possibility of Jose Mourinho taking charge at Old Trafford next summer, while reports in Spain went one step ahead by claiming the Portuguese has already agreed a deal with the Red Devils.

While Mourinho could be United’s prime target for next summer, if the widespread reports are to be believed, but by bringing this topic which is merely a speculation, in the press conference ahead of a big match doesn’t give a good feel about the fixture.

When Louis van Gaal was asked to comment whether United had started making negotiations with the former Chelsea manager, the Dutchman replied such claims are absolutely “nonsense”

“I know that there has been such a lot of nonsense created around me but I can’t believe that there is already a relationship with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United,” said the Dutchman.

Former United manager David Moyes has said that Mourinho is arguably one of the best managers in the world, and the United job is so prestigious that no one can reject the offer outright.
