EA Sports Player Performance IndexLouis van Gaal has confirmed his star striker Robin van Persie and centre-back Phil Jones are fit to face Swansea City.

The 20-times English champions make a trip to Wales as they take on the Swans in the Premier League clash scheduled between the two sides at the Liberty Stadium. The Dutch international missed United’s FA Cup fifth round victory over Preston North End with a minor ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Phil Jones suffered a knee injury during United’s 3-1 league win at Old Trafford against Burnley. The former Netherlands manager has confirmed that his compatriot and England defender are fit for the weekend clash.

With Van Persie and Jones returning to first team action, Van Gaal also revealed that Michael Carrick is the only United player on the treatment table.

However, United boss admitted that the England international will resume training next week.

“The manager added that Michael Carrick is the Reds’ only injury but expects him to resume training with the squad next week,” as quoted in United Today’s Live Blog.

Van Persie’s return from minor injury will be a massive boost for United when they take on Swansea. Van Gaal suffered his first defeat as United manager in the opening day fixture against the Swans at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman will be looking to settle the score when his side face them at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Radamel Falcao is likely to be dropped on the bench as Van Persie returns to the starting lineup for their upcoming league clash.
