Reports from Italy have claimed that Serie A sides Napoli and Inter Milan are set to battle it out for Tottenham flop Erik Lamela in the summer. It is believed that the Argentine who has failed to settle down at White Hart Lane since arriving from Roma for a hefty price tag of £30m wants a return back to the Serie A.
The 22 year old who has been left out of Argentina’s squad for the World Cup in Brazil is currently training with River Plate to regain his fitness.
Napoli would love to bring the midfielder on loan to the Stadion Sao Paolo as manager Rafa Benitez looks set to strengthen his already impressive side over the course of the summer. Inter Milan too have significant interest in the winger but it is believed that a move to Napoli seems more likely as claimed by Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Lamela hasn’t been able to stamp his authority at Spurs this season with niggling injury concerns featuring in just 15 appearances, most of them being from the bench. The Argentine has netted only once but his previous spell with Roma fully guarantees that he can change any game single handedly by the scruff off the neck.
Tottenham though would in no way want to lose a player of his calibre for whom they spent tons of cash in the previous summer and the London club might turn down offers in the summer.
