Liverpool maintained their fifth spot in the Premier League table after getting a massive, massive and yes massive result against Manchester City, after earning a 2-1 victory over the Champions.
Jordan Henderson gave the early for the Reds, after the stand in skipper curled his effort into the far corner leaving Joe Hart helpless.
Edin Dzeko restored parity 15 minutes later, with Aguero sending him through before beating several Reds shirts with ease.
Both teams looking for victory went for all out attack but Liverpool attacking at the kop end looked more likely to score.
Philippe Coutinho, who scored a world class goal against Southampton in the last match, scored another classic and wins it for Liverpool.

Allen and Lallana were excellent today for Liverpool, as were Henderson and Coutinho. Superb team performance.

Was not expecting nine points from City, Spurs and Saints but those are three huge results for #LFC.

Impressive from #lfc, sustaining that tempo, energy, pace, pressing. Coutinho, Henderson, Allen, Lallana etc all excellent. Fine goals too.

Liverpool deserved that. Madness from Pellegrini leaving space in front of the back four with Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling on the pitch.

Kudos to Brendan Rodgers. #LFC won the most points in past 11 PL games. Reckon they have a shot to win PL next season if they spend wisely.

As for Liverpool, they’ve already entered the post-Gerrard era and it’s not scary. V impressive how Rodgers guided them out of early dip
