FIFA president Sepp Blatter is under criminal investigation in Switzerland on the grounds of criminal mismanagement and misappropriation. Blatter, who announced his resignation from his post as the FIFA president in June, is yet to let go of his reins in world football’s governing body.
A statement on the official website of the office of the Swiss Attorney General read: “The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) has opened criminal proceedings against the President of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on suspicion of criminal mismanagement as well as — alternatively — on suspicion of misappropriation.”
