With all the domestic campaigns done and dusted, it is time for every club to focus on the transfer market and improve their chances of doing well next season.
Although the transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July, almost every club has started working on their deals and new signings are being confirmed every day. Here at Soccerlens, in our daily transfer news roundup column, we will bring you the latest stories from over the last 24 hours.
Manchester City agree Sane deal
Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign the German winger Leroy Sane from Schalke.
The Premier League giants have agreed a 40 million pounds fee to bring the 20 year old to Etihad for next season.
Sane had a breakthrough season with Schalke last year and has attracted interest from several European heavyweights such as Chelsea and Liverpool. The Blues sent scouts to watch him earlier this month and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was well aware of Sane’s qualities from his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Sane has made 55 first team appearances with Schalke so far and is already quite experienced for his age. He is also the second youngest player in Germany’s Euro squad this summer.
If the reports are to be believed, Sane would be Guardiola’s second signing from the Bundesliga. The former Bayern Munich manager has already signed the charismatic central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool submit bid for Islam Slimani
Liverpool have had a 25 million Euros bid rejected for the highly rated Sporting striker Islam Slimani.
The Algerian striker has scored 31 goals in 44 games last season and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester are keen on signing him.
The player has a 30 million Euros release clause and his suitors will have to pay up if they want to sign him.
Sporting are not keen on selling him this summer and definitely not for a knockdown price.
Liverpool and Arsenal both need a new number nine due to the injuries of Sturridge and Giroud’s inefficiency in important games. It will be interesting to see if both sides up their offer over the next few weeks.
Antonio Conte wants Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to sign the Italian defender Matteo Darmian from Manchester United.
The versatile full back has excelled under Conte for the national team and the former Juventus manager now wants to sign him for Chelsea.
The Blues will need a new right back next season and Darmian has shown that he can be a good player in the Premier League. Although he was a bit inconsistent with Manchester United last season, working under a familiar manager in Conte could improve him.
Recently it was reported that Mourinho is willing to get rid of the Italian. In that case, a deal should be easy to complete for Chelsea.
