Arsenal submit mega bid for Julian Draxler
Arsenal are looking to sign an attacking midfielder after missing out on Mkhitaryan this summer.
The Gunners’ interest in the new Manchester United signing was no secret, but the Armenian chose to sign for the Old Trafford outfit.
Wenger is now exploring other options and has identified the German international Julian Draxler as an ideal candidate for the attacking midfield role.
Arsenal need another top quality attacking midfielder to complete the trio alongside Ozil and Sanchez. The likes of Ramsey, Theo, Chamberlain, Campbell have all played there on the right, but have failed to impress.
Draxler has been outstanding for the German national team out wide and Wenger is ready to break the bank for the Wolfsburg star this summer.
Latest reports state that Arsenal have already launched a 43 million pounds bid for Draxler.
The 22 year old scored 10 goals last season and has been very impressive in the Euros. It will be interesting to see if Wolfsburg are now ready to let the player leave after just 12 months at the Volkswagen Arena.
Chelsea approach Marc Overmars regarding youth recruitment role
Chelsea are looking to hire the highly rated Marc Overmars to oversee their youth recruitment.
The Ajax director of football has impressed with his judgement in the market and running of the club with a limited budget and Chelsea want him to work with Conte next season.
According to reports, Chelsea have made an approach for the former Arsenal legend and fan favourite. They are still waiting for a response from Overmars.
The Dutch club have offered a new deal to Overmars and it will be interesting to see if he chooses to sign it and stay in the Eredivisie for now.
Chelsea submit £34m bid for Kalidou Koulibaly
Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with a move away from Serie A and Chelsea are willing to offer him an exit route.
Telegraph are reporting that the Blues have offered a sum of £34m for the Senegal international.
Koulibaly is a top target for Antonio Conte and the Italian wants to sign him as a long term partner for Kurt Zouma. The likes of Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic have all regressed and the new manager is already looking to address his side’s defensive weaknesses.
Napoli have stated that they will hold on to the 25 year old, but a bid of £34m is too good to turn down for a club of Napoli’s resources.
The Senegal international is one of the best defenders in Serie A right now and will add a towering presence at the back. The 6 feet 5 inches star’s ability to play the ball out from the back will also be a major asset for the Blues.
