Tottenham Hotspur have yet to appoint a permanent manager after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, with interim manager Tim Sherwood taking charge of the club at the moment.
Sherwood oversaw his first victory in Sunday’s 3-2 win against Southampton; will take charge of the club over the Christmas period against West Brom and Stoke City respectively. According to reports from The Guardian, Sherwood hopes to hold talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in the next 24 hours to discuss his future at the club.
It is also reported that Holland national team manager Louis Van Gaal has emerged as a surprise contender for the job, but the former Champions League winning manager of Ajax is unwilling to share club and national duties, all at the same time.
Former Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle is still interested to manage the club but admitted that no official offer has been put on the table, while speaking to Sky Sports.
“Do I want the job? Well I’ve had the job there once. Tottenham Hotspur, you know I supported them when I was 8 years of age. I went there at 12, left there at 28,” he said. “Went back and managed. It’s in my blood. It’s in my bones. If I was offered the job, yes I would want to go back, even if it was for the sake of the club.”
