It is more than fair to say that new boys in town Hull City have been the surprise package this season. A 2-1 win at Arsenal and a spirited 4-3 loss at Manchester United have been performances that caught everyone unexpected of the talent in this side. The fans are happy, the board is happy and the manager is happy. But are the players?
On loan Wigan striker King has been impressive for Hull this campaign and Phil Brown is ready to make the move permanent. However, King has demanded a £4 million payout from Wigan for the remaining two years on his contract at the club. This has put a sour taste in the deal for Wigan, and they are set to deny King the chance to stay at Hull because of this. It would be a shame for Hull to lose a player like King, so maybe some words from Phil Brown are needed for King to forget about the money at Wigan and stay at Hull. But money is talk these days.
The other possible move being mentioned is the acquirement of teen sensation Carlos Vela. Rumour has suggested that the young Mexican might be loaned out for the rest of the season from Arsenal to gain some first team action. However, Vela has been widely included in Arsene Wenger’s Premier League and Champions League games of late, and I think it would be a massive surprise if Wenger was to let him go on loan again. However, if they could get Vela, it would definitely help their cause to stay up and even fight for a position in Europe next season.

This team at Hull is one which positions will become even harder to find once players have established themselves. Players like Geovanni and Michael Turner have proved themselves and seemed to have cemented their places in the first eleven.
Players like Windass and Garcia may look for moves in the market. Especially Garcia, as he still has plenty of years left in him and is a talented player. He has said that he wants to stay at Hull but he also wants to actively be part of his national squad Australia. But if he wants to be part of his national team, he will need to start playing a lot more regularly than now. Windass on the other hand is not getting much younger, and if he still wants to play regular football, he might find it in the lower leagues of English Football.
As mentioned before it looks like King might be leaving Hull because of his disagreements with his contract at Wigan. It appears as though he might end up rotting away in the reserves if in fact he doesn’t make his move to Hull permanent, and that would be quite a shame for a player that offers so much.
