Should Manchester City Sign Mauro Zarate?

Manchester City have emerged as the front runners in the race to sign Lazio striker Mauro Zarate, according to a report from Sky Sports News.

The 22-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea as well as City in recent days, with his agent confirming earlier today that there was definite interest from the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur were at one stage also reported as tracking the forward, who is believed to have fallen out with his coach at Lazio, Davide Ballardini.

But it appears now that Roberto Mancini’s side are the favourites to secure the services of the Argentine, who scored four goals in 14 appearances in a loan spell at Birmingham city in 2008.
