In a shocking revelation, Manchester United star Angel Di Maria says he would have loved to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer.
The Argentine international helped Real Madrid win the Champions League as they defeated Atletico Madrid in the finals. He was named as the Man of the Match for his excellent display and despite that, the La Liga giants made it clear to the winger that his services are no longer required at the Spanish capital club.
Di Maria left Real and was constantly linked with United, while Ligue 1 winners were also linked with a move in signing him. However, Financial Fair Play (FFP) forced them to pull the plug and eventually ended their interest.
The 26-year-old then completed a £59.7m move to Old Trafford as United paid a British-record transfer fee in bringing Di Maria to the Premier League. He has revealed that a switch to Parc des Princes would have been a great experience.
“It would have been a great experience to join Paris Saint-Germain. I have no regrets for leaving Real Madrid,” Di Maria said in an interview to Telefoot.
Earlier rumours suggested that the former Real star is unhappy at Old Trafford and it was further fuelled when United legend Paul Scholes made a comment on Di Maria. However, the winger’s wife had put those speculations to bed by confirmed it on Instagram that the Argentine is happy with his life in Manchester.
