fellaini-unitedItalian club Napoli have confirmed they are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini in the summer transfer window.

The Belgium international was signed by the Red Devils’ former manager David Moyes from Everton on the deadline day of the last summer window. The 26-year-old struggled in his debut season at Old Trafford, as poor form, coupled with injuries saw him receive criticism from part of United fans.

Fellaini was signed by United for a fee believed to be around £27.5m. However, the Premier League giants are ready to part ways with their midfielder for a fee of £15m. The Guardian reports Napoli are ready to pay the asking price in signing the former Everton star.

Now Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed the Serie A outfit are interested in signing United man this summer.

“Fellaini is one of the names of our midfield, but he’s not the only one,” De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“His hairstyle could be perfect for the Neapolitan style. I like his ‘lion-hair’, I have introduced Inler like a lion, Fellaini could compensate his lack of hair.”

Should United allow Fellaini join Napoli for a reported fee of £15m, it will be a loss for the Red Devils. However, if he continues at Old Trafford and fails again, it is unlikely that there could be any takers for the midfielder.

If Fellaini leaves United, new manager Louis van Gaal will be left with Darren Fletcher, Ander Herrera and Tom Cleverley as the only recognised midfielders in the squad till September, especially with injury to Michael Carrick.

Do you think Manchester United should let Marouane Fellaini join Napoli for £15m?
