Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of Sergio Ramos. In the post match press conference, after Tottenham lost to Real Madrid in the Audi Cup, he said if he had the chance to sign any Real Madrid player, he would splash the cash on Sergio Ramos, who is a reported summer target of Manchester United.

Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. He was apparently furious with the club for damaging his public image, while reports of a break down in his relationship with club Florentino Perez over the terms of a new contract came into highlight.

Manchester United were encouraged by his desire to leave La Liga, as a result the Red Devils had even launched a €60m bid to secure his signature, but it was immediately rejected.

There has been an attempt from the club to persuade Ramos into signing a new deal. Spanish newspapers claim that Ramos has changed his mind and wants to continue at Real Madrid.

Pochettino when asked during an interview by Spanish radio station Onda Cero, (via IBTimes) on whether he would like to sign any player from Real Madrid, he said: “I would sign several players from Real Madrid but especially, as a I was a centre-back, I would like to sign Sergio Ramos.”

“He is really good. I really like him. I would sign him with my eyes closed. I love Ramos.”

Tottenham have bolstered their defence during the summer with the arrivals of Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier. While signing Ramos from Real Madrid is next to impossible, but Spurs could sign Real Madrid’s 19-year-old forward Marcos Asensio on loan. Pochettino has expressed his desire to sign him, and Madrid could be willing to send him on loan to get him valuable experience of playing in a different league.
