Liverpo defender Sebastian Coates has sealed a season-long loan move to Sunderland.
The Uruguayan has been on the fringes for the past couple of seasons at Anfield, and with the signing of Dejan Lovren this summer from Southampton, has slipped further down the pecking order.
Coates was signed by Liverpool from Nacional in 2011 but has made just 12 appearances in the Premier League for the Reds in 3 seasons. He was sent back on loan to National in the second half of last season.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has been looking to address his side’s defence and the 24 year-old Coates will surely add a lot of quality to the Black Cats’ back line.
