Wolfsburg have had a disappointing season and continue to have the worst defense in the league. They’ve conceded 44 goals including 27 at home. They are eight points clear of relegation but out of any chance for a top five finish. They have been unable to duplicate last season’s success and are winless in their last 10 Bundesliga matches.
Schalke has conceded a league low 15 goals in 22 matches including 7 in away matches. They are three points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen and second place Bayern Munich in the league table. They are undefeated in several months and last loss in September against Wolfsburg.
Depending on the outcome of the other matches, Schalke could move level on points with the Leverkusen and Bayern as well as keep at least a six point lead above 4th place Hamburg. Wolfsburg have little to play for in the Bundesliga but are alive in the Europa League.
It’s not an easy match to predict and both sides could win the match. Schalke has been in much better form but Wolfsburg is capable of beating any club in the Bundesliga on any given day.
