Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge seems uncertain with each passing day as reports from France claim that the Belgian might now be interested in those clubs who will not feature in Champions League next season.
The story claims that German outfit Wolfsburg is interested in the 21 year old who had yet another stunning season on loan at Everton scoring 15 goals and grabbing 6 assists in 33 appearances under Roberto Martinez.
Klaus Allofs, Wolfsburg’s Sporting Director is believed to be keen on the player who has had dazzling performances in the matches building up to the Belgium’s preparations for the World Cup in Brazil.
We had earlier reported that Borussia Dortmund were keeping tabs on the player but the German club now having signed Serie A top scorer Ciro Immobile from Torino are expected to drop their interest on the Balgian. Lukaku might also be used as a bait by Chelsea to land either of Roma’s Mehdi Benataia or Diego Costa from Atletico as reports suggest.
Everton would have also loved to sign Lukaku on a permanent deal but it is believed that Chelsea’s asking price for the striker might be beyond the reach for the Toffees.
Lukaku however, when questioned about his future at Chelsea claimed that he would love to play for the London club.
“You know, I always have a two-year contract in the biggest club ‘of England , because yes, it is Chelsea . So I always hope to play. Chelsea has a good coach.”
