Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini thinks Milner will be City’s last transfer of the summer.
James Milner joined Manchester City from Aston Villa on a 5 year deal contract at the cost of Stephen Ireland plus £16million.
Manchester City have spent around £150m since May, and after splashing money this summer, Mancini says he is staisfied with his current squad.
When asked if that was the end of City’s spending, Mancini said: ‘I think so. [Milner] is a good young player, who can play in every position in the middle and out wide.’
Milner, after signing for City, says that he will be looking forward for the new season, and that City will be looking to challenge for the title, knowing the team is by far one of the best in the country.
Milner said: “It didn’t take too much selling by the boss [Mancini] when you see the players who are already here and the plans for the club.”
“The last thing he said to me was, “be ready for the next game”, and then he said “be ready to win the Premier League”, and that’s my ultimate aim – that’s what I want to do.”
“I’m ambitious and I want to win trophies here. I believe this is a great place to do that and I believe we will do it.”
