Roberto Mancini Lining Himself Up For Sunderland Job?

On Sunday it emerged that the recently sacked Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster was more than just eager to become the new manager of struggling Premier League club Sunderland. And today it has been reported that another high-profile coach is also interested in managing the Black Cats.

According to The Daily Mirror, former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is interested in signing up for Sunderland. The Italian is currently in England and is said to be desperately trying to come to grips with the English language.

Although his agent had earlier claimed that Mancini is in England for personal and holidaying reasons, the British paper suggests that there could be other intensions lurking underneath.

A number of top draw personnel’s names have been thrown into the hat but so far there is nothing clear as to what Sunderland would do about the situation.

Should they go for high profile coaches such as Schuster or Mancini or would they be better off with ‘home-grown’ managers who are familiar with the lay of the land?
