Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus according to The Mirror.
Though the Old Lady of Italian football are targeting Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid as a priority signing, they will step up their pursuit of the Arsenal man if their efforts to sign the Uruguay international falls through.
Mustafi was less than impressive last season as the Gunners ended the season outside the top four on the Premier League standings for the second time in succession.
His inconsistent performances last season meant that he was not included in the 23-man German World Cup squad who were eliminated from the tournament during the group stage.
Since joining the Gunners in 2016 from Valencia, the 26-year-old Mustafi has also failed to assure fans that he is capable of being the club’s long-term centre-back option.
Should a bid come through for Mustafi, it is likely that Arsenal manager Unai Emery will give it serious consideration after the club recently signed Sokratis from Borrusia Dortmund and also handed the promising Callum Chambers a new long-term deal.
