According to Eurosport France journalist Manu Lonjon, Scottish Premiership giants Celtic are interested in signing Lille striker Fadiga Ouattara this summer.
Le Celtic Glasgow intéressé par Fadiga Ouattara ( LOSC) , considèré comme un grand prospect.
Après Moussa Dembele, Orsonne Edouard… Ouattara ? https://t.co/TtYDniw4UI— Manu ⭐️⭐️ (@ManuLonjon) May 6, 2020
The 18-year-old is widely considered a great prospect given his huge potential, and he could follow in the footsteps of French youngsters and strikers that have played for the Hoops recently.
Paris Saint-Germain’s academy graduates Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard have both donned Celtic colours, and the latter has been tipped to leave Parkhead soon having caught the attention of English Premier League clubs.
Ouattara is yet to play for Lille’s first-team and hasn’t signed a professional contract yet, but his performances in the UEFA Youth League has caught the attention of Hoops scouts, and they will definitely face competition for his signature this summer, with RB Leipzig and Valencia already keeping tabs on him.
The Ligue 1 side won’t be too keen to lose such a gem, but the promise of a quicker path to first-team football at Celtic could lure him away, and the Parkhead outfit have proven that they don’t hesitate to give kids a chance if they can prove themselves.
Jeremie Frimpong arrived from Manchester City academy on a four-year contract last summer and Celtic were hoping he would help provide cover for Moritz Bauer.
However, the 19-year-old has surpassed all expectations and has since established himself in Neil Lennon’s starting XI.
