Carlo Ancelotti has been urged by Real Madrid fans to drop Gareth Bale after the Spanish newspaper AS conducted a poll.

The reigning European champions have the entire squad fit as they welcome James Rodriguez back from injury. This means the Italian manager has the Colombian international Isco, Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema at his disposal for the upcoming clash against Rayo Vallecano.

Around 12,000 fans participated in the poll and out of which 31% them wanted Bale to be dropped, now that they have Rodriguez fit for the next match on Thursday away from home. Should he be dropped, then he is likely to be replaced by the South American attacker.

With Real fans clearly voicing their unhappiness, would Bale consider pushing for a transfer this summer? It’s unlikely – Bale was the La Liga side’s president Florentino Pérez’s personal bet as he signed him for Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

The Welsh international was signed for a reported world record fee of £85m. In his debut season, the 25-year-old went on to win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League and also scored in the final.

However, this season has season a surge of negativity against Bale in the press culminating in fans booing him and attacking his car after El Clasico last month. The unease has calmed down somewhat, if you want to read this as such, by Marca putting together a list of the 10 fastest footballers in 2015 with Bale at number 1. A peace offering? Or another setup?

The former Premier League Player of the Year has been a transfer target for Manchester United in the past. The external factors and continuous criticism could force Bale to leave the 10-time European champions. Should United get a sniff that the player is open for a transfer, Ed Woodward could likely do everything possible to bring Bale back to the Premier League.
