According to reports in Spain, Champions League winners Real Madrid are caught in two minds on whether they will opt to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez or will they keep hold of French international Karim Benzema at the Bernebeu next season.

The story claims that Real are desperate to land Suarez in the summer but the Spanish giants will have to pay a whopping £79m for the Uruguayan who signed a new four-and-a half year deal worth £200,000 a week in December.

Benzema’s future at the Spanish capital looks uncertain despite being the protege of President Florentine Perez, having scored 22 goals and grabbing 14  assists in 46 appearances for the Los Blancos in the 2013-14 campaign. Manager Carlo Ancelotti had earlier praised that Suarez is a fantastic player but insisted that the attacking trio of Benzema, Bale and Ronadlo is beyond improvement.

“The squad is very good and we are very competitive. If we can improve, which won’t be easy, we will, but if we keep those we have I would be happy. This group has won two cups and will be very competitive next year.”

Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier claimed that he would love to play up front with Benzema and Bale and believes that the trio’s understanding with each other will be pivotal to Real’s success in the coming seasons.
