Rangers could still sign Ianis Hagi on a permanent deal this summer.
As per Corriere dello Sport (translated by Sportwitness), their pursuit of the midfielder ‘remains alive’ and it will come down to what Steven Gerrard wants.
The Ibrox giants have an option to sign the player for a fee of around €5m.
It is understood that Hagi’s parent club Genk are not keen on keeping him and if Rangers do not sign him, they will look to find another buyer.
The player has been linked with Lazio as well.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. The Romanian has done well for Rangers so far and he could develop into a star for them.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has three goals and one assist to his name so far. He joined the Scottish outfit on loan in January.
The Scottish outfit should look to seize the opportunity and make the move permanent.
Hagi has already won games for them this season and he will only get better with coaching and experience.
Rangers will need game-changers like him to bridge the gap with Celtic next season.
They have the finances to pull off the transfer and Gerrard should look to seal the deal soon.
