Rangers 1-0 Celtic
Scottish Premier League
28 February 2010
It was a close match with both sides getting chances but Rangers would eventually get a late goal.
Both sides had some decent chances in the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net. Rangers appeared to take the lead on a Maurice Edu shot but there was a handball on Kenny Miller on the play.
The second half would be the turning point as Scott Brown of Celtic would get a red card. It was after a challenge where he got tangled up with a Rangers player. He was given a straight red which seemed a bit harsh. It probably should have been a yellow or a red for both players.
Rangers would use the man advantage to get some good scoring chances in the second half. They continued to push and would find the match winner in stoppage time. With only a few seconds remaning, Maurice Edu scored off a rebound on a corner kick. The corner was sent in, the first shot saved and Edu was in the box to quickly put in the goal. The defense from Celtic was poor and their SPL title hopes now gone.
Rangers are 10 points clear with the win.
