Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has put his contract talks on hold till the end of the season. The report published by Daily Mail claims that the 20 year old is now focused on securing a Champions League berth and on winning the FA Cup.
The recent developments will cause anxiety to the Anfield side’s chiefs who are desperate to tie down the player to a new long term contract at the club. Sterling’s current contract worth £35,000-per-week is set to expire in 2017.
Earlier manager Brendan Rodgers had claimed that the player has been offered an incredible deal worth £100,000-per-week. But the Reds weren’t able to reach an agreement.
It is believed that Sterling’s agent, Aidy Ward is on the verge of leaving Impact Sports Management to start his own company but Rodgers had made it clear that the Reds will not be bowing down to Sterling’s demands.
Liverpool would be uncomfortable though as European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on the situation closely and could make a move.
