According to the British tabloid News of the World, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez could be heading to Italy to take charge of the Italian and European giants Juventus.
The Spaniard has recently snubbed an improved new contract at Liverpool and it is being said that Benitez did so to make himself available for other major European clubs. Rumours are rife in Spain of Spanish champions Real Madrid are looking to lure Benitez to the Bernabeu at the end of the season and it has now emerged that Juventus too would be interested in appointing the former Valencia boss as their coach.
Claudio Ranieri has been given the vote of confidence to stay on as the Juventus coach for until the end of the season but should Juve end up empty handed then, then the Juve board might just get rid of the “Tinkerman”.
Relationship between Benitez and Liverpool’s American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett is still frosty and it seems that Benitez is indeed contemplating of moving out of Anfield before long.
After all, what else could be the reason for him not to accept a new contract at Liverpool?
