According to well informed journalist Duncan Castles, Radamel Falcao is set to join Chelsea after his disappointing loan spell at Manchester United last season. Castles writes in his personal column in the Times claiming that the Colombian has agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge side.

The report however states that Falcao is 100% committed to Chelsea but the details of the deal isn’t known, whether it will be a complete transfer or a season long loan deal . It is believed that the Blues manager Jose Mourinho wants Falcao to replace Didier Drogba, the Ivorian who left the club after the end of the last season.

Falcao struggled to find goals for Manchester United last season scoring just 4 goals in 29 appearances all season. He is currently leading the line for Colombia in the ongoing Copa America 2015, where the 29 year will try to regain his form.

Falcao was earning around £265,000-a-week at United but we had reported earlier that he could take a huge pay cut to join Chelsea. The player will take a significant wage cut so that he can continue playing in England or more prominently in London.

Moreover, Mourinho is also on the verge of signing a new four year deal with the Premier League Champions that will reaffirm his status as the best paid Football manager in the world. Mourinho’s after tax salary will be more than £7.5m. Mourinho’s Portuguese assistants Rui Faria and Silvino Louro will also be rewarded with new deals following a successful season.

These certainly are exciting times for Chelsea.
